Where did you grow up?
I grew up all over Utah but to me, but home would have to be either Stansbury Park (a Suburb about 45 minutes outside Salt Lake City) or my college town, Cedar City, Utah.
Describe what you do at Antica Farmacista:
I am a Business Coordinator, which is a title I love because it is vague and can cover all the different things that I do. I get to spend each day tackling a new task whether it is working with our retail partners, assisting boutiques, overseeing program integration, assisting with quality control, and helping out in several other aspects. Each day is filled with new tasks that are fun, exciting, and best of all - busy.
Where do you point people who are just discovering the collection for the first time?
I like to recommend starting with a diffuser in your favorite area of your house. I love the aesthetic that they bring to spaces, and nothing is better than having the right scent in your favorite areas. For fragrances I recommend, I first find out what type of fragrances they normally are drawn to, and then offer suggestions from there.
What are your personal favorites?
I love Tarmac, Sandalwood Amber, and finally Lemon Verbena and Cedar. I especially love how these fragrances layer together and each bring something unique that makes my space feel cozy, inviting, and special.
What are some passions you pursue outside of work?
I am a painter and printmaker. I spend almost all my free time creating in my studio space. I love that I get to spend my free time pursuing creative endeavors.
What's the best advice you've ever received?
Make time for the people and things you love.
Is there anyone in your life you truly admire?
I have always admired my father. He is the kindest person I have ever met and is the last person to judge or get angry. I have been able to learn so much from him and am so glad I have such a wonderful example in my life.
“I love the aesthetic that diffusers bring to spaces, and nothing is better than having the right scent in your favorite areas.”
Do you have any early memories that involve scent?
The scent of petrichor - summer rain on pavement. I always loved summer storms going up and the scent accompanying them was the best. Living in the PNW, it seems like this scent is elusive but when it does come after a dry spell, it is magical.
What might we be surprised to know about you?
I try to constantly learn and gain new skills.
Describe your dream getaway.
My dream getaway is being able to go to any location and just explore and create art. Bonus points if it is a beautiful location and has lots of easy access to good restaurants so that I can focus on creating.
