Layering 101

Do you love multiple fragrances? Or are you looking to intensify the scent of your favorite fragrance? Then this blog post is for you! We are going to outline two different ways to layer our fragrances today. The first is all about how to use our different product types to intensify the smell of your favorite fragrance. From there, we will go over how to identify which fragrances will play well together. Don't forget, you can always schedule a complimentary fragrance consultation with our scent experts to fine-tune your fragrance selections!

Layer by Product

By layering our different product types, you can enhance your favorite scent to be as strong as you'd like. You can use the same fragrance for all three layers, or use complementary fragrances (more on that below), to create a one of a kind scent.

Layer 1: Reed Diffusers

Create a base layer for your room with our signature reed diffusers. For smaller rooms we recommend a 250ml diffuser, and for medium to large rooms we recommend a 500ml diffuser. Our diffusers will continuously waft your favorite scent in your space, while also providing a luxury touch to your home!

Layer 2: Candles

Increase the intensity of a fragrance by lighting a candle. This is a great way to start or end the day with an added boost of your favorite scent. To keep your candle at its best, make sure to trim your wick to ¼” every time you light it and never burn your candle for more than 2 hours at a time.

Layer 3: Room Sprays

Looking for even more of your favorite fragrance? Spritz one of our room sprays to elevate your space with a targeted burst of scent — we always spritz before guests arrive! Spritz your room spray into the air or directly onto pillows and sheets in your home to give your personal space an invigorating lift.

Layer by Fragrance

In addition to layering different types of product, you can also layer different fragrances to create a unique signature scent for your home. If you're new to layering fragrances, here are some things to keep in mind when pairing scents:

FRAGRANCE BY CATEGORY

• Citrus scents add crisp, juicy zest to fresh and floral scents.
• Fresh fragrances lighten up citrus or florals.
• Florals can be tamed by fresh and citrus scents, or grounded by earthy scents.
• Earthy scents pair well with earthy, warm and greener florals.
• Warm fragrances pair best with other warm fragrances.

FRAGRANCE BY INTENSITY

Pair light fragrances together, or one light and one heavy fragrance. Light fragrances tend to be in the fresh categories, while the floral and warm categories are often heavier. Citrus and earthy scents tend to be in the middle. Note: You'll want to avoid pairing two heavy fragrances together if you're in a smaller space, the scent could become overpowering!

Most of all, make sure to have fun! Fragrance is a form of creative expression, so don't be afraid to try new things! If you have additional questions on how to layer, reach out to us at hello@anticaf.com.
