Where did you grow up?

Bainbridge Island in the Pacific Northwest. My family has been here for 4 generations.

Describe what you do at Antica Farmacista:

As controller of a small company, I have my hands in everything, making sure every number ends up where it needs to be.

Where do you point people who are just discovering the collection for the first time?

I like to recommend diffusers. If a person knows what they like in terms of general fragrance then I would tell them about our fragrance page where they can look at fragrances by group (Citrus, Warm, Fresh, Floral, and Earthy). Prosecco is our bestseller (and what everyone buys), but if I were to recommend a starter fragrance, it would be Ironwood.

What are your personal favorites?

So many great fragrances — my favorites change based on the season and how I am experiencing it. I like warmer scents in the fall, like Sandalwood and Cask. In the spring I like Lush Palm. For the summer, it’s Santorini. In my son's room and my closet, I like Lemon, Verbena & Cedar. For the body I love Damascena Rose, Orris and Oud. When we had it in body butter I would use it every day, and when my kids smell it now it reminds them of me. I am really hoping we bring it back in body butter!

What are some passions you pursue outside of work?

I have two kids, ages 14 and 16. I spend most of my time outside of work getting my kids to sports events and watching them, which I love. My husband loves to travel so he is always taking us on wonderful adventures. When I am not enjoying all these wonderful interruptions in my life I like to enjoy time in the garden creating a beautiful place to relax.

What's the best advice you've ever received?

We are all doing the best we can, so don't judge people, because we don't know what's going on with them.

Is there anyone in your life you truly admire?

My Grandmother was really someone to admire, she was strong, positive, and intelligent, and she always encouraged you to find opportunities and growth. She was your advocate - and when you found it and others were unsure of whether it was right or wrong, risky or simple, she helped you find the way to know what was right for you.

Do you have any early memories that involve scent?

Coffee brewing from a percolator. It always smelled so good as a child waking us for breakfast. Sadly it never tasted good, at least not until I was in my 20's.

What might we be surprised to know about you?

I love to look at the stars and wait for shooting stars to cross the sky.

Describe your dream getaway.

I love Italy, the sights, and smells there bring me so much happiness. I love the old walled cities and the walks through the countryside, the smell of amazing food and wine. When you find yourself relaxing under the sun amongst the cypress trees and jasmine plants and let those fragrances take you away.

What Antica products are in your cart right now?

Ideally, Damascena Rose, Orris and Oud Body Butter or Body Oil - I would move mountains for these to come back!
